Grill Maestro

I was recently asked to review a site called World Famous Barbecue, a site that essentially contains a directory of barbecue related links ranging in topics from restaurants to equipment suppliers all the way down to sauces and rubs, it essentially is designed to run the gamut of sources but is a little light currently in the content department. The site statistics list that it has more categories than links, 160 categories to a mere 37 links, so it’s a resource that still needs to fill itself up before it can contend with the bigger fish in the BBQ directory business.

I think the idea of the site is a good one as I’m not familiar with any one stop shops that provide a lot of resource information but this site seems to have way too much advertising and hardly any content at all. I loaded up the Grilling Planks category and was inundated with an Omaha Steaks ad, two Adsense ads, and a whole lot of navigation before I could even see the two results that it returned. TWO results after THREE ads, sorry buddy, that’s not going to make your site popular.

I recommend deleting all those ads, flesh out the site, and then start advertising the site to other people. In its current state I would not recommend this site.
