What’s a Slide Aside?
Grilled on March 17th, 2006 in Accessories
If you have one of those Weber type circular grills with the removable lids, look inside and try to find that metal hook. That hook is what you use to hang the lid when you’re lifted it off (and don’t want to set it down on anything). If it seems like that hook isn’t going to cut it, that’s what the Slide Aside is for.
Check out this Slide Aside from Weber. Basically it’s a metal frame slider that you can put the lid into when you’re cooking if you don’t want to hang it off the handles. Is it worth $15? I suppose that’s up to you but I don’t mind setting my lid down on the ground.

I saw one of these in action at our local Ace Hardware the other day, and I must admit that it’s slick. If I had a kettle grill, I’d definitely think about getting one.
