Upcoming Char-Broil TEC Series Review
Grilled on May 16th, 2007 in GeneralThe fine folks over at Char-Broil have offered to send me one of their TEC series grills to try out! I’m pretty excited because I missed out on the NYC Bryant Park TEC grill unveiling event last time and I’ve never had such a nice grill before. My current setup is a Char-Broil propane grill that cost me somewhere in the neighborhood of two hundred dollars at The Home Depot a year or so ago, which explains why I wrote about Char-Broil more often than say Weber the last year, so this is going to be quite a leap. I believe the version I may be getting is the triple burner version that has one infrared burner (45k BTUs), one side burner (13k BTUs), and a rotisserie burner. Not entirely sure and I won’t know until I get it I suppose. I’m pretty excited either way!

GM,
Glad to see you back at it this spring.
I’ve been a bit lazy and haven’t gotten back out for any serious grilling and when I did some minor stuff realized that my burners need replacing.
Have you got any tips / ideas on replacing the burners?
Hi Graydon, what’s wrong with your burners? JD had some clogged burners and is writing up a post about cleaning them, maybe you just need a good clean?
Nah, I wish they were just plugged… the things are pretty much erroded away. I had to take a good look and realized that where they are formed together they’ve pretty much split apart.
Needless to say, not the safest way to cook outside.
I’ve seen some replacement burners in the store but didn’t know if you had heard of any particular brand being better or not.
I’ve never bought any replacement parts at the store so I wouldn’t know if any were better than others, maybe try writing down the list of brands and doing a search online is probably your best bet.
