I just received a press release from the Beef Checkoff, the organization behind the Beef It’s What’s for Dinner marketing campaign, that listed the fall in retail beef prices; a fall I didn’t know had happened. As a result of the economic downturn, there’s been a drop in restaurant demand for the premium steakhouse cuts and they’re making their way into grocery stores. The steakhouse cuts are your T-bone, porterhouse and ribeyes, the tender bits you find in the short loin.

Not bad!
