RIP: George Foreman Lean Mean Grilling Machine
Grilled on August 18th, 2006 in GrillsWhen it comes to a George Foreman grill, I’m torn. Part of me loves the fact that it’s easy to use, takes up almost no space, and is “healthy” in that the oil drips away from the burger. Then, a part of me says “Grill maestro - you have a grill, George Foreman has retired and so should his grill.” And you know what? The second part is right… once you move out of an apartment and have a real grill, charcoal or propane gas, it’s time to retire the Foreman. If you don’t have a grill, then the Foreman will have to do.
Back in college or living in an apartment when you couldn’t have a grill, the George Foreman Lean Mean Grilling Machine was the closest thing you could get. The only downside of the Foreman grill was that it had to press down whatever you were cooking and that means that both oil and JUICE were running out of your burger. You know how they say not to press the burger when you’re grilling? That sin is exactly what the Foreman does.
But, when you’re in college, it doesn’t matter. So, if you know someone going off to college, do them a favor and get them a George Foreman grill.
