Quick Burger Tip: Don’t Press!
Grilled on December 24th, 2007 in BeefI don’t know how many cooking shows I’ve seen where the grill maestro presses on the burgers to squeeze out some of the juices so they can hit the coals and “infuse” a burger with flavor. Wrong!
Never press down on a burger! Unless you enjoy dryer burgers (yuck), keep those juices inside the patty so you can enjoy them when you bite down on your perfect hamburger. Squeezing them out and having them turn into smoke doesn’t infuse anything with flavor, that logic doesn’t work with kisses and it certainly doesn’t work with flavor. (While a blown kiss is nice, the real thing is much nicer!)




I agree wholeheartedly! I see friends do this as well, and I just sigh.
