Protect Your Grill From The Elements

When I bought my grill from Home Depot, it didn’t come with its own protective covering. Considering it was a $250+ purchase, the least the manufacturer could’ve done was thrown in an el cheapo $15 cover that could protect my baby from the sun, rain, sleet, and snow of Maryland - but alas, it was not to be. However, just because it didn’t come with one doesn’t mean you should have your grill fight the elements without some sort of protection.

With charcoal grills you don’t have much to worry about if you let it fight snow and rain without protection because there are fewer parts to rust and get damaged. When you’re talking about propane, it’s a totally different story. If you’ve ever put together a propane grill, you know that you have to be delicate with the burners because you don’t want to knock a hole in it and cause any sort of leaks. It’s not delicate like a newborn child but it still needs a little babying… the least you can do is throw on a tarp covering.

Grill covers come in many forms, some are a thick nylon material with a furry backing and some are simply waterproof tarps that you can throw over your grill. Whatever your choice is, getting something is better than getting nothing (as long as it can defend against water) and well worth the investment. If nothing else it will protect your grill from getting rusty, which is just plain ugly.
