Magnetic Propane Level Indicators

If you’re like me, your ability to tell how much propane you have left in your tank by weight is a little spotty. If you’re also like me in this regard, you have a little yellow dot somewhere on the side that when exposed to warm water, will turn green (or some other color) when you have less than two hours of fuel left. Great. Wonderful. Two hours of fuel left is a lot of time and I want to know if it’s two hours or two minutes left, both of which will produce the same result.

That’s why you need a magnetic propane level indicator that sticks right onto the side of the tank. I’m not entirely sure how they work but instead of the one shot on-off of the warm-water indicator, the propane level indicators usually have multiple levels so you have a better idea of how much fuel is left. The best part is that these things are reusable and they cost less than $10 a piece. For $10, I don’t see why you wouldn’t get one.
