The point of searing a steak is to trap the juicy juiciness inside and keep it there so that you can enjoy it after you’ve plated your dish. With that in mind, here are a few steak tips that help maximize that flavor and may keep you from messing things up!
- If you start with your steak at room temperature, it seems to cook a lot better than if you just pulled it out of the fridge. Don’t leave it sitting out too long though, you don’t want to risk spoilage.
- Sear that baby on high heat for a few minutes on each side to get that nice char.
- Use tongs to cook that steak, not a fork. If you stab it, it will bleed and you’ll lose a lot of that juiciness.
- After you finish cooking, let the steaks sit on the plate for five or ten minutes so that the juices can congregate back in the center of the steak. That will maintain maximum juiciness.
- Be sure to invite friends over, pop open a bottle of red, and have a good time!
