How To Properly Grill Corn
Grilled on July 10th, 2006 in GeneralThe BBQReport has an interesting recipe for corn that I want to try in the near future but in reading that brief post I saw him mention a key tip in grilling corn: soaking the husks in water (salt if you’d like) before you grill. For all the novices out there like myself, this is likely a step you’ve missed that has resulted in some crispy husks and “still kinda hard kernels but burnt on the outside” corn.
Whenever you’re going to grill corn, a great tip is to first soak the corn (with husks) for an hour. Then, prior to grilling, peel back the husks and stuff in some yummy goodness and you’ll be good to go. The water will steam up nicely, cooking the corn and your flavor, without burning your corn too quickly. It’s the same principle at work when you soak the cedar planks.
Happy grilling!
