FoodTV Barbecue & Grilling Shows

The Food Network is quite possibly one of the best networks on cable television second only to perhaps ESPN and the History Channel. The guru of grilling on FoodTV is none other than Bobby Flay and he is the main host for two shows and a frequent appearance on another. The two he hosts are Boy Meets Grill and BBQ with Bobby Flay with Iron Chef America the show in which he is one of the Iron Chefs. Flay has penned several books including Bobby Flay’s Boy Meets Grill : With More Than 125 Bold New Recipes, Bobby Flay’s Grilling For Life : 75 Healthier Ideas for Big Flavor from the Fire, and Bobby Flay’s Bold American Food and his shows are a hit on the network.

There are other shows that will occasionally show BBQ/Grilling type recipes such as Good Eats that had a great recipe for baby back ribs on last night.

Anyone have their favorite cooks?

I like Bobby Flay. Some of his current shows are a little too trendy, but I can forgive him.

Can you really not love a guy who did a show called “Grillin’ and Chillin’”, with Jack McDavid of Philadelphia’s Jack’s Firehouse and Down Home Diner?

I thought those shows were great fun, Jack smoking things up with a charcoal webber and Bobby with the big gas grill.

Yeah, I think that’s a bit annoying once you start getting mainstream (and when you have so many shows to be on) but it’s alright.

I like the Sonoral Grill with Mad Coyote Joe. It’s not food network, but from a local Phoenix channel - he has some books out and a site here:
