“Feburger” - A Stuffed Burger Recipe
Grilled on August 13th, 2006 in RecipesWhen it comes to burgers, I’m make a pretty simple burger. I chop up some onions, mix them with a copious amount of garlic powder, Worcester sauce, soy sauce, pepper, and ground beef - then slap them on the grill. The only thing that makes them easier than your typical burger is chopping up onions and mixing them in.
Now, let’s take a look at a wondrous “Feburger,” named after it’s creator (who stole it from his friend, but we’re not going to call the burger his friend’s name, who we don’t even know), a delight I was able to enjoy last night during a wonderful night in Baltimore.
The Feburger is basically a burger packed with green peppers, onions, and mozzarella cheese sprinkled with some Worcester and soy sauce. The key is the right proportions so that the burger doesn’t fall apart when being cooked. The mozzarella will, once it melts, keep the burger internals intact and together while giving you a delightful surprise when you bite in. Critical is the cooking process, you must sear the burgers on the outside so that it doesn’t fall apart… otherwise you just have a femess.
