Brazilian Churrascaria - BBQ Meat Lover’s Dream
Grilled on February 9th, 2006 in GeneralA Brazilian Churrascaria is a meat-lovers dream. It’s a restaurant that serves primarily meat, grilled of course, and is typically all you can eat. What happens is they leave a little wooden column on your table with one end painted red and othe green. When they see green, the servers will bring over enormous skewers donned with gorgeously grilled meats and slice you off a piece until you say no. When they see red, they don’t come over.
I went to one of these for the first time when I was at school in Pittsburgh, PA (The Green Forest) and it was absolutely amazing. Imagine every type of meat and every single cut imaginable available for you to eat until you felt like you needed to become a vegetarian for a year to compensate. There are usually salad bars there too, just to balance things out, but you go for the lamb, chicken, steak, and pork cuts, grilled to perfection.
For an idea of what I mean, just take a peek at this photo gallery from Chamas Churrascaria (I’ve never been there).
If you’ve never been, do yourself a favor and look for one nearby. You won’t regret it.

You know, I saw a resturaunt like this featured on some FoodTV show, but never got around to finding one. This was while I was in Pittsburgh, btw…
Anyway, I’m living in Cleveland now, so I’m going to be taking my wife out to Brasa sometime soon. Thanks for the reminder!
Also, you’ve been added to may daily readings. Thanks.
